10 km

Run around Trehörningen

Most of it is easy to run, some really nice views but a bit more challenging at the end and there we have set up a temporary bridge. Mostly wide paths and gravel road, but a short forest section after about three km. Save some energy for the last 1,5 kilometers, where it is a forest path with a couple of short hills.

In addition to forests and lakes, you run through beautiful Marielund – and with a bit of luck you'll see the old steam locomotive Lennakatten. You have to stop for the train. It has a very long braking distance and cannot stop for a runner.

The course is well marked and there are three hydration stations. Once you reach the finish line, it's great to take a dip afterwards.

Ready to start?

All distances, marathon, half marathon, 10 km and 5 km has start and finish in Fjällnora by the lake Trehörningen, the same day. Mountain nora is located 20 minutes east of Uppsala, one hour north of Stockholm. The 10 km race starts at 11:00, 30 minutes after the half marathon and 30 minutes before the 5 km. If you have friends who run other distances, they won't have to wait long.

Start time: 11:00

Elevation difference: The course is flat with occasional hills at approximately 7–9 km (from 20 to 40 m above sea level).

Easy to find: All courses are well marked and easy to find. You follow blue markers all the way. The only thing you need to avoid is running into the marathon or half marathon (yellow and red markers).

Equipment: Regular running shoes work great. Bring your own mug or bottle, or run with a free reusable mug that you will receive before the start of the race.

These 10,2 km will take you around the lake Trehörningen counterclockwise. The name "Trehörningen" does not mean triangle, but "three horns". On the way you will actually be able to see three lakes: At about 7 km you will get a glimpse of the small Gårsjön and at the end you will pass the strait between Trehörningen and Ramsen.

Course description

You start north on a nice, wide forest path. After 1 km you run a few hundred meters across a meadow. Then you continue on a small gravel road that turns into a path (old Fjällnoravägen) and soon you start to see the old summer villas around the lake. You can fill up on water at the first water station in Selknä, right outside a beautiful pink house.

Please note that you are crossing the railway line, and you must stop for the train. These are museum trains, so even though they run slowly, they have a long braking distance!

The gravel road continues through the forest for a short distance and then it becomes a few hundred meters on a forest path.

Further along Trehörningen Are you coming to Lövstahagen? There you will find another water station and a view of the lake. There is a toilet here.

Then you continue through Marielund, with its century-old summer villas. You cross the railway once more at the station, so take it easy! There is also a toilet in the station building.

Continue from the station on the asphalt road for another km and take a sharp turn down to the left. (The marathon and half marathon continue straight ahead, so keep your eyes open).

The next few kilometers go through forest , but you get a glimpse of Gårsjön on the right. Here there is also an uphill climb. Continue to the next hydration station, Häggdal. Here you see how the marathon and half marathon courses connect.

You get a few glimpses of Trehörningen on your left as you continue on small gravel roads in the forest. A couple of minor hills later you will come to the meadow where you turn left towards the lake. Please note that the marathon and half marathon continue straight ahead. Instead you will run into a meadow. Run carefully, it is not a mowed lawn.

Now the adventure begins! First a flat path along the water, but then it goes up and down and can be rocky. So take it easy. You will come down to a footbridge over a stream (which can be dry at this time of year). Look directly to the right and you will see the traces of a mill, a two-meter high stone wall. One more footbridge and you will meet the 5-km runners. We have arranged a temporary bridge in the strait between the lakes Trehörningen and Ramsen. You will hear the sounds from Fjällnora and soon you will pass the café where you will sprint the last bit to the finish line to collect your medal!

New staircase Fjällnora

The last 1,5 km goes through forest. Part of it is a new path, made in 2025, on the most difficult parts Fjällnora has built trestles and a staircase.

Pålsundet, Fjällnora

Pålundet, the strait just before Fjällnora. Here we will lay out a temporary pontoon bridge.
