Cyclists

Needed from the first start at 10:00 and until the last runner arrives around 17:00. After 15:00, one or two cyclists are enough. Test ride the courses beforehand so you know what applies. If you have the opportunity, be there for the officials' information at 08:15.

Wear a helmet. Bring first aid kit and an extra water bottle to offer to runners. Please bring a printed map wrapped in plastic (to be available in the starting area on Saturday morning).

You normally start by cycling before the first runner. Within sight, but not so close that you disturb the runner. Competitive runners are used to following a bike. Therefore, it is important that you know the route. Test ride the course so that you don't ride wrong. Sometimes you can't cycle or have to leave the course for other reasons. In that case, be clear that you will stop and let the runners pass so that the first runner doesn't think they are following you. Also check the situation with the staff at the hydration stations when you pass.

Sometimes you can't follow the cyclist and have to go around and catch up with the first runner. It's not a requirement to have a cyclist in front all the time, but it's a big plus.

If you see that the course markings are unclear, fix them. Bring a few meters of cuttings in your pocket in case you need to supplement somewhere.

Later we will also need trail riders. This means you follow the course and try to find the last runner. Feel free to ask if the person thinks they are last. Keep an eye on the last runners' numbers.

You have an important role at the end of the day to check that no marathon runners are forgotten on the trail. Please note that there may be runners left even if you don't see them. They may have run the wrong way or are in the woods peeing just as you pass.

Always: Be encouraging and ask runners how they are doing. Especially if someone looks tired or confused.
Call 073-610 84 03 (alternatively 070-3636262) if anyone needs help or if you see any shortcomings. Also report if anyone wants to break.
Of course, you call 112 if it is a dangerous situation.

Quad bike

You are needed from approximately 09:00–17:00. If you have the opportunity, please attend the staff briefing at 08:15. Your task is to transport semi-heavy loads in areas where it is difficult to get to. The quad bike is also a "rolling hydration station" that can be called in when needed.

Bring first aid, an extra water bottle and sweets to offer to runners. Please bring a printed map wrapped in plastic (to be found in the starting area on Saturday morning).

Areas that are difficult to get to are in the vicinity of Fjällnora, i.e. the first 4 km and the last 4 km. Please note that parts are nature reserves and we should be extra careful where we drive. There are also some places further away that may be relevant (around Ältjsön and the area between Grytbol and Funbo rectory). There is a shorter section between Norredatorp and Eda camp that may be relevant.

During the day we will get reports of something missing at various hydration stations. You may need to run out candy, soda, and everything else. If you can find a place for a water bottle, that will be very helpful.

Driver

You will be driving officials and equipment to hydration stations. During the day, you may need to drive food and drinks between stations. There may be too much at one location and too little at another. You may be tasked with transporting runners who have given up and want to return.

Coordinate with 073-610 84 03 (alternatively 070-3636262). Also report if anyone wants to break.

Of course, you call 112 if it is a dangerous situation.
