Official information
Signposts and parking attendants
Here is a link to an advanced Google Maps with all the courses in stock, where you will find various officials who are out along the course.
As a guide, it is very important that you do the right thing so that no one runs the wrong way. You can use both your voice and your body to show the runners where to go.
Please note that GUIDE and ROADWATCH are two different words that are easy to confuse!
Also keep in mind that the times are approximate. You must be absolutely sure that all runners have passed before you leave the signpost. You cannot leave the location when the clock shows the time it says on this page that you should stop, without knowing if all runners have passed.
Road guard 1 (10:20 - 11:30)
Here the marathon runners cross the 282nd. Your task is to warn cars and runners so that they don't collide. There is a sign at the location with the text "competition in progress".
Also point the runners in the right direction, so that they run left after they cross the road.
When the last runner has passed, you can take down the "competition in progress" sign and place it at the intersection, next to a post.
Road guard 2 (11:00–13:00)
Here the marathon runners cross the 282nd. Warn the runners about the cars. It will probably be difficult to stop the cars, but help as best you can. There is a sign at the location that says "competition in progress".
Also make sure that no one runs the wrong way. They should continue on the road, straight ahead/slightly to the left, not running in to the right.
When the last runner has passed, you can take down the "competition in progress" sign and place it at the intersection, next to a post.
Signpost 1 (09:55 - 11:10)
At 09:55-10:05 you make sure that the marathon runners run straight ahead along the blue course northwards. When the last marathon runner has safely passed, you can remove the yellow snips.
At 10:25-10:35 the half marathon runners will arrive. They will turn left through the forest to get a couple of extra km. When the last half marathon runner has safely passed, you can pick up red signs and arrow signs to the left.
At 11:00-11:10 , the 10-km run will run straight ahead along blue sections.
Then you are done and can go back to the starting area.
Signposts 2A and 2B (10:25 – 11:00)
Near the dog park. Half marathon runners will be running here.
At 10:25 – 11:00, make sure that everyone turns onto the path, no one goes out onto the asphalt road. Here we have changed the course, so someone may try to run the wrong way. This applies to both signposts 2A and 2B, even though you are standing a bit apart from each other (see map).
Signposts 3A and 3B (10:25 – 11:00)
There is a paddock here that the runners run through, so the gates must be kept open.
At 10:25 – 11:00, the half marathon runners come down the hill at high speed and turn sharply to the right. Signpost 3A holds the gate open and points them in. Signpost 3B holds the second gate open and points them out through the gate.
When the last runner has safely passed, close both gates. You can start picking up the red signs and signs on the way to Fjällnora.
Signpost 4A (10:05–10:30)
It is important to distinguish marathon runners (yellow) from 10 km and half marathon runners (blue and red respectively).
At 10:05, marathon runners may start arriving. Point them to the right.
Important: When the last marathon runner has passed, remove arrow signs and yellow markings that are visible from the road.
Half marathon runners will arrive at 10:35 . They will continue straight ahead along the red/blue markings.
When the last marathon runner has safely passed and it is clear that you should run straight ahead, you can go back to Fjällnora.
Signposts 4B and 4C (10:05–10:30)
Signposts 4B and 4C are located a short distance apart (see map).
At 10:05-10:30, signpost 4B ensures that all runners run down the small path and signpost 4C ensures that all runners run down to the left and then to the right into the forest. This applies to all runners, regardless of distance.
Signpost 5 (10:45–12:15)
Important: Half marathon runners (red) should run straight ahead while 10 km runners (blue) should sprint down to the left.
At 10:45, half marathon runners may start arriving and will head straight ahead.
At 11:20, 10 km runners can come running. They will go down to the left.
When the last 10 km runner has safely passed, remove the arrow sign and the blue markers right at the bend, which attract runners down to the left. The rest of everyone who passes should go straight ahead along the red/yellow markers. If the last 10 km runner has passed and it is clear that you should go straight ahead, you can go back to Fjällnora or change to another road guard.
Signpost 6 (10:30–13:00)
Here it is important to distinguish between half marathon runners (red). 10 km runners (blue) and marathon runners (yellow). The half marathon and marathon go straight ahead, further south. The 10 km course goes towards Fjällnora, on the left.
At 10:30 the half marathon runners will arrive, who will be pointed straight ahead on the gravel road.
At 11:25, 10 km runners will start arriving. They will turn left, towards Fjällnora.
At 12:30, marathon runners may start to show up. They will go straight ahead, just like the half marathon runners.
When the last 10km runner has safely passed, you can remove the arrow sign so that all the other marathon runners who pass by understand that they should go straight ahead. You can go back to Fjällnora and pick up the blue chips along the way.
Signpost 7A (11:30–11:45)
This is where the 5 km runners (green) run. They should follow the green-pink squiggles to the right down into the forest, nothing else (you can see squiggles of other colors along the gravel road).
At 11:30 there will be 5 km runners who you should point into the forest on the right. It goes quite quickly, but still make sure everyone has passed before you leave the place.
At 11:45, runners running other distances may start arriving from the other direction on the gravel road, but they should continue straight ahead.
When the last 5km runner has passed, you can remove the arrow pointing down into the forest and make sure it is clear to all runners running past on the gravel road that they should not turn there. Go back towards Fjällnora and pick up the green-pink chips on the road.
Signpost 7B (11:35–12:00)
Only 5 km runners (green) run past here.
At 10:35, 5K runners may start arriving. Make sure they turn right.
When you are absolutely sure that the last runner has passed, you can start walking back to Fjällnora along the course, picking up green-pink chips along the way.
Signpost 7C (11:35–13:00)
Here there will be both 5 km runners (green) and 10 km runners (blue). Both will cross the bridge towards Fjällnora.
At 11:30 you should be ready to point runners across the bridge.
When you are absolutely sure that all runners have passed, you can go to Fjällnora and pick up scraps along the way.
Signpost 8 (11:45–16:30)
Half and full marathon runners pass here. Everyone should continue straight ahead on the road for a short distance before turning off the road to the left and running into the finish line. Now they are really tired and need all the applause they can get! At the same time, cars and buses may come, keep an eye out so they don't collide.
When the last marathon runner has passed or when you are replaced, you can go to the finish area.
Signpost 9 (11:45–13:30)
5 and 10 km runners pass here. All runners should take the same route towards the finish line, into the cattle path (the path between the cowsheds). Check carefully where the course goes beforehand so you are pointing in the right direction. At the same time, there may be bathers with strollers etc. who risk colliding with the runners. You may need to warn them about the runners.
When you are absolutely sure that all runners have passed, you can walk towards the finish line, taking down signs and signs along the way.
Signposts 10A and 10B (11:45–12:30)
Here the 5 and 10 km runners run through the pasture. You hold the respective gate open so that the runners can pass. At the same time, you point them into the finish line. Now it's the final sprint, so cheer them on and clap your hands!
When you are absolutely sure that all runners have passed, you can walk towards the finish line, taking down signs and markers along the way.
Signposts 11, 12, 13 and 14 (10:00–11:10)
This is right at the start for the marathon, half marathon and 10 km. You stand in your respective places (see the map) and make sure that all runners turn right into the parking lot. In the small roundabout, everyone should run to the right of the flags and thus follow the yellow and blue course on the map (the red one is slightly incorrect here). You should also keep an eye on the cars passing by and make sure that they do not disturb the runners.
