Liquid stations

Liquidation stations – general information

Marathon Trehörningen
First encounter with the lake Trehörningen, is already under the first km.

As an official, you have one task at the hydration station: To ensure that the runners have a pleasant experience. Some runners will have the hardest day of their lives and then it is important that you as an official are pleasant and helpful.

Be prepared:
– Hang the garbage bag on the side of the table using tape.
– Divide bananas and other large items. Half a banana is easy to peel and eat. Half a Snickers is just right. If you have watermelon, cut it into small, easy-to-grasp pieces. But don't cut it all up, keep some.
– Be prepared for questions. How far is it? Where is the nearest toilet?
– If many runners are coming at the same time, prepare water and sports drinks in jugs so they don't have to queue for the cans.

Meet and support
– Cheer and clap your hands, the runners are heroes and need encouragement.
– Point out where they should run after the station. Sometimes it's not entirely obvious if you're tired.
– If someone looks injured or confused. Offer them to sit on your chair. Show them that you have first aid supplies.
– Offer to be picked up, but prepare them for a 30-60 minute wait.

For safety's sake
– Familiarize yourself with the first aid kit
– Check where there are inhabited houses nearby
– Always call 112 if there is an urgent danger. Call 073-610 84 03 if it is less urgent. You need a pick-up (backup number 070-3636262).

Time to pack up?
– When you think the last runner has passed, check to make sure it is correct. You can ask the previous station who is last or if a cyclist comes and says that the last one has passed.
– Check that there is no trash before or after the station. Walk a little way, about two hundred meters after the station.
– Wipe the table so it is not sticky.
– Tie the garbage bag so that no birds etc. can get to it.
– You put food and other things into the box and put the lid on.
– Boxes will be driven to the starting area to give runners refreshments when they cross the finish line.

Can the official taste it?
– If you stay over lunch, you will receive a lunch sandwich and drink.
– But of course you get to taste what's on the table, but make sure the runners get it first.

6 lakes marathon 2022
The stretch along Lötsjön is beautiful. This is the only longer stretch with a forest trail, so take it easy!

During the marathon, 42,2 km, you run one lap around 6 lakes counterclockwise: Trehörningen, Lötsjön, Funbosjön, Gårsjön, Ramsen and Norrsjön. You will run near Lötsjön and Trehörningen, you get a few glimpses of Funbosjön, Ramsen and Norrsjön. You won't see Lake Gårsjön at all - but on the other hand you will see a seventh lake, the magical Ältsjön.

You start north. It is an easy-going, wide path that leads to a gravel road along Trehörningen. A short stretch on asphalt along Fjällnoravägen and then down onto a wide path. Soon you cross the road and enter the most technical part of the course, in the forest south of Lötsjön. It is a regular forest path, but there is always the risk of tripping on a root or stone. You get some beautiful views of the lake and soon you come to the Borgis hydration station – which is also a beach. If it is really hot, maybe you want to take a quick dip?

Be careful as you cross the railway after the forest on your way into the town of Länna. The trains don't go fast, but they are museum trains and steam locomotives have a long braking distance. Never run in front of the train. You will also cross the main road, 282, so be careful.

After Länna you will enter deep into the forest and see, among other things, the small Ältsjön lake.

After just under a km on asphalt (a sidewalk along 282) we run again onto a forest path, usually very easy running. Here you will see the small forest lake Ältsjön. The following stretch is a few kilometers of small forest roads. One or two crofts, a barn, otherwise dark forest or large clearings.

The stretch around Lake Funbosjön is quite long, but a nice run. You come out to a mixed agricultural landscape and on a couple of occasions see Lake Funbosjön beyond the meadows. Small cottages become larger and eventually you come to Frötuna farm, which still owns much of the land around it. There is a water station here to fill up before an incredibly long avenue that leads to the toll asphalt road.

Frötuna farm is located at the northern end of Lake Funbosjön, at km 17. There is a hydration station here.

Near the asphalt road you will see a sign on the left, “Funboslätt”. You will now get another glimpse of Lake Funbosjön. A nice hydration station is located at the Grytbol cottage. Then we run on old village roads that have now been transformed into paths.

More open landscapes and two kilometers of asphalt before we reach Funbo Church from the 1100th century. There are toilets here. You cross a two hundred year old stone bridge and after another km you cross 282, be careful – tired runners and fast cars are a bad combination!

Funbo church after about 25 km, WC and water station.

Through the village of Källtorp and into the forest again, but only 700 m before you come back to Trehörningen.

The following part is the same as for the half marathon:

In Lövstahagen you see the lake and a water station. Here you meet the half marathon . Then comes a nice stretch through Marielund with its hundred-year-old summer houses. You will cross the railway tracks again at Marielund station, so be careful! There is a toilet in the station building and a café behind the station building.

Marielund station. Behind the station there is a café. There are toilets here.

Continue on quiet asphalt roads through a beautiful open landscape to the next fuel station, Söderby såg. Here you continue on small forgotten gravel roads to the next fuel station, Häggdal.

Here (after about 35 km) we meet the 10 km course again , but soon we are in Skräddartorp where they turn off towards Fjällnora and we continue forward. Soon we are in Norredatorp, a small farm owned by students at Uppsala University. Here we have a hydration station. You continue on a forest path along Norrsjön.

From Marielund it is easy asphalt approximately km 29-31. From now on the half marathon will follow the same route.

Now we are approaching the southernmost end of the course and now we are running in Knivsta municipality. After about 38 km, at the village of Eda we turn north on small gravel roads. The road back to Fjällnora goes on the east side of the lakes Norrsjön and Ramsen. The gravel road has a tough uphill slope before you get to the last hydration station, Röda stigen. Then a forest path for a few hundred meters and another couple of kilometers on gravel roads before you FINALLY get to Fjällnora.

Be prepared for your GPS to read just over 43 km before you arrive. We have designed the course so that no one can run shorter than 42,2 – regardless of which app you have or if you run the shortest route around the turns. This means that most people will run around 43 km.
