Every year we need about 60 people who fill different roles. Most help on the day of the race or the days before. Email info@6sjoar.se if you are interested in helping with the race. In order for the association to hire someone as an official, you need to be 16 years or older. Younger people can help, but then together with their parents or under the guidance of an adult, for example with their sports club.
A few people work professionally at the race, they are hired from various suppliers: Timing, supply of toilets and hired equipment. There are also some who are hired specifically in various collaborations such as the first aid team, warming up and announcer.
Compensation
Most officials are volunteers, meaning they work for free or receive a fee. A fee is a small amount of money that is paid out once in a while, unlike a salary. It is complicated for us as an association to pay out a salary, which is why we use the rules on fees. This means, among other things, that we can pay out up to SEK 999 per person without registering it as salary. Up to half the prize amount (SEK 29,400) can be paid out tax-free. But note that we report everything to the Tax Authority, so if you have more income during the year, it may affect your total tax.
In addition to the fee, we of course reimburse expenses, such as car allowance for those who come with their own car.
Our basic rule is that children and young people receive a fee corresponding to the number of hours they have worked, but a maximum of 999 SEK. Most older people help for free, but there are certain key roles where adults also receive a fee, such as those who drive mountain bikes, handle administration or purchases. If the amount exceeds 999 SEK, they invoice the association via an invoicing service.
The hourly fee depends on age. 16–17 years old receive 75 SEK, 18–19 years old receive 90 SEK, 20 years old and over receive 110 SEK.
All remuneration includes holiday pay.
